A Heartwarming Story of Rescue and Recovery: Meet Navajo
In the streets of Chefchauen, Morocco, a little puppy was spotted by a group of kind-hearted individuals. The puppy had a huge enlargement in his young age, and it was unclear what caused it. They immediately took the puppy into their care and named him Navajo.
Despite being a happy and open little boy, Navajo was suffering from diarrhea and refused to eat. He was placed in isolation, and his rescuers were worried that he might have contracted the fatal parvo virus, which is a common disease among stray puppies in Morocco.
Determined to save Navajo’s life, the rescuers drove hundreds of miles at 4am to get him to a veterinarian. It was discovered that Navajo had a hernia, most likely caused by a hard kick, and that the enlargement was a result of heavy trauma. The surgery was long and risky, but the vet and his team were able to fix Navajo’s hernia and give him a chance to survive.
Navajo had a high risk of contracting the parvo virus, but his rescuers were determined to give him the care and love he deserved. They treated him with antibiotics and loving hands for several weeks, and Navajo proved to be a little fighter.
Forty days later, Navajo was a transformed puppy. He was healthy, happy, and confident, with only a scar reminding his rescuers of the ordeal he had gone through. Navajo’s rescuers were overjoyed with his progress and wanted to find him a loving home where he could live the life he never had.
